Cardinate Consulting LLC - Application Privacy Policy

Last Modified: November 17, 2025

Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the software applications ("Apps") published by Cardinate Consulting LLC, including those listed below. This policy outlines our practices with respect to information collected from users of our Apps.

This policy does not apply to our websites or other services, which are governed by a separate privacy policy available on our website.

We believe your data is your own. Our applications are designed to be privacy-first, processing and storing your data on your device, not on our servers.

1. Saturn PhotoGraph

This policy applies to the "Saturn PhotoGraph" App.

  • Data We Do Not Collect We believe your data is your own. This app does not collect, transmit, share, or store any of your personal information on our servers. We do not have servers, and we do not have access to your location data. We do not collect any other personal information, such as your name, email address, or device identifiers.
  • Data We Collect (On-Device Only) The App collects Location Data (latitude and longitude) from your device's GPS. This information is collected only when the App is actively in use. We do not access your location in the background.
  • Why We Collect It Your location data is used for the sole purpose of the App's core functionality: To calculate the current Azimuth (Az) and Altitude (Alt) of celestial objects (like Saturn, the Moon, and other planets) from your specific geographic position.
  • How It's Stored & Shared Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is never sent to our servers, and it is never stored, saved, or logged. The information is used in real-time for calculations and is discarded immediately after. We do not share your location data or any other personal information with third parties, advertisers, or analytics services.

2. GPX PhotoGraph & PhotoGraph Watch Tracker

This policy applies to the "GPX PhotoGraph" App for iPhone and the "PhotoGraph Watch Tracker" App for Apple Watch.

  • Data We Do Not Collect We believe your data is your own. This app does not collect, transmit, share, or store any of your personal information on our servers. We do not have servers, and we do not have access to your location data or your GPX files.
  • Data We Collect (On-Device Only) To provide our services, the App processes and stores the following data only on your device or in your personal iCloud account:
  • Location Data: When you start a recording, the app collects your device's latitude, longitude, altitude, and timestamps.
  • Why We Collect It: Your location data is used to create a GPX track of your route. This data is processed on-device to build your track.
  • How It's Stored: Your location data and generated GPX files are stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, which you control.
  • Permissions The app requires certain permissions to function properly:
  • Location 'When In Use' Access: This allows the app to record your location while you are actively using it.
  • Location 'Always' Access: This is required only if you want to continue recording your location when the app is in the background or your screen is locked during a track recording.
  • Photo Metadata Updates When you choose to update missing or mismatched photo locations, the app writes new GPS coordinates into the photo’s metadata (EXIF). These edits happen only when you explicitly press the Update buttons. No automatic or background modifications occur, and all changes remain local on your device.
  • Data Sharing The app does not share your data with any third parties. Any sharing (e.g., using the 'Share' button to AirDrop or save a file) is initiated by you and is handled by the standard iOS/watchOS Share Sheet. We do not see or track where you send your files.

3. PhotoGraph Insights

This policy applies to the "PhotoGraph Insights" App.

  • Data We Do Not Collect We believe your data is your own. This app does not collect, transmit, share, or store any of your personal information on our servers. We do not have servers, and we do not have access to your photos or their metadata. The app does not access your location data for any purpose. We do not collect any other personal information, such as your name, email address, or device identifiers.
  • Data We Process (On-Device Only) To provide its features, the App requires read-only access to your photos and their associated metadata (EXIF data). This access is granted by you through the standard iOS/macOS photo library permissions prompt.
  • Why We Process It Your photo and EXIF data are processed for the sole purpose of the App's core functionality:
  • To open and display your photos within the app.
  • To read, parse, and display the EXIF metadata (e.g., camera model, aperture, shutter speed) for you to review.
  • How It's Stored & Shared All processing happens entirely on your device. The app reads this data from your Photo Library in real-time. This data is never sent to our servers, and it is never stored, saved, or logged by the app. We do not share your photos or EXIF data with any third parties, advertisers, or analytics services.

4. PhotoGraph Shared Album Sync

This policy applies to the "PhotoGraph Shared Album Sync" App.

  • Data We Process (On-Device Only) To provide its features, the App requires read and write access to your photo library. This access is granted by you through the standard iOS photo library permissions prompt. The app specifically accesses:
  • Shared Albums: To read the list of available shared albums and the photos within them.
  • Personal Library Photos: To compare against photos in your shared albums to find duplicates.
  • Photo Metadata (EXIF): Specifically, the  creationDate  and  filename  are read for comparison.
  • Photo Data: The actual image data from a shared album is read only when you direct the app to import a missing photo.
  • Why We Process It Your photo library data is processed for the sole purpose of the App's core functionality:
  • To scan Shared Albums chosen by you.
  • To read photo metadata (filename, creation date) from both the shared album and your personal library.
  • To compare this metadata to identify photos that are present in the shared album but missing from your personal library.
  • To save (import) these missing photos from the shared album into your personal library.
  • To (optionally) create a new album in your personal library to organize the imported photos.
  • How It's Stored & Shared All processing happens entirely on your device. The app reads this data from your Photo Library in real-time. This data is never sent to our servers, and it is never stored, saved, or logged by the app (outside of the new photos it saves to your library at your command). We do not share your photos or metadata with any third parties, advertisers, or analytics services.

5. General App Policy Provisions

These provisions apply to all Apps listed in this policy.

  • User Rights Our Apps do not have user accounts or store your personal data on our servers. Therefore, the "right to access," "right to rectify," or "right to erase" data held by us is not applicable, as we do not hold your data. Your rights are exercised directly by you on your device:
  • Location: You can grant, review, or revoke location permissions for our Apps at any time in your device's  Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services .
  • Data Deletion: You can delete any data created by our Apps (such as GPX files) directly from your device or through your iCloud account. If you have any questions about this, please contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at  patrick@cardinate-consulting.com .

As your data is stored locally on your device and not on our servers, it is protected by the security measures of your device (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID) and your personal iCloud account (Apple ID password, two-factor authentication). We do not transmit your personal data.
  • Corporate Transaction We may share information in the event of a corporate transaction (e.g., sale of a substantial part of our business, merger, consolidation, or asset sale). In the event of the above, the transferee or acquiring company will assume the rights and obligations as described in this Privacy Policy.
  • Minors We understand the importance of protecting children’s privacy, especially in an online environment. Our Apps are not designed for or directed at children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without their consent, he or she should contact us at  patrick@cardinate-consulting.com .

Material changes will be effective immediately upon the display of the revised Privacy Policy. The last revision will be reflected in the "Last Modified" section. Your continued use of the Apps, following the notification of such amendments, constitutes your acknowledgment and consent of such amendments to the PrivacyPolicy and your agreement to be bound by the terms of such amendments.
